Dr V. Rashaka MBBCh (Cuba / Wits) | Dip Obst (SA)

Dr V. Rashaka is a General Practitioner with a deep commitment to caring for women, families, and the wider Nzhelele community. Her approach to medicine is grounded in three pillars: listening carefully, explaining clearly, and treating every patient with dignity.

Her medical journey began with international training in Cuba, which she completed with an MBBCh from Wits. Following her internship at Tambo Memorial Hospital, her experience in the South African public healthcare system shaped a practical, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to care.

Dr V. Rashaka has a strong interest in women’s health, pregnancy care, and chronic disease management. Having seen how long travel distances, transport costs, and crowded facilities often delay access to care in rural and peri-urban areas, she chose to practise in Nzhelele, bringing quality healthcare directly to the community she serves. To provide advanced support to expectant mothers, she obtained the Diploma in Obstetrics of South Africa, known as the Dip Obst (SA). This qualification reflects specialised competence in managing both normal and high-risk pregnancies, recognising complications early, and making informed decisions about referral when required.
